Bio

Gabriel Peter is a singer and a songwriter, a speaker and an actor, an author and an artist. His piano-driven original music is a blend of ballads, praise, and indie pop. Underlined by his faith in Christ, Gabriel's presentation is uplifting, inspiring, and guaranteed to make you laugh while at the same time touching your heart and mind. He is also author of the book East From West with other novels in the works, and a veteran radio personality. His heart for ministry has lead Gabriel to often give most of his music and perform concerts for free, reaching out to others with the life changing message of Jesus Christ.

Born in Columbia, SC, and the oldest of 6 children, Gabriel has been surrounded by music his whole life raised in a radio family. His father would help start another radio station in Pennsylvania before eventually settling in Kansas. As young as 4 years old, Gabriel was singing and performing in front of church congregations and on television. He's also hosted his own radio show since the age of 7. Those influences and opportunities growing up have created a marriage of music and message.

In high school and college, Gabriel became a talented speaker and debator, winning numorous awards for acting and public presentation. As a 4-time national speech and debate champion, the community college where he attended named an award after Gabriel given to the best public speaker each year. He's since been named the Kansas Association of Broadcastors Radio Personality of the Year in 2005 and 2007, and was runner-up in 2008. Musically, he's won competitions with Embassy Music and the Gospel Music Association. In 2007, Gabriel's song "A Love Song About A Bus Driver & A Janitor Lady" was a finalist for independent song of the year. In early 2008, he appeared on the Christian Television Network in Nashville, TN performing his songs "Dim Glass Darkly" and "If Something Good." His music videos have been seen tens of thousands of times on YouTube, MySpace, and other places on the web.

Through the doors that have been opened to him, Gabriel has performed live in concert with some of the biggest names in contemporary Christian music: Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Audio Adrenaline, Point of Grace, Nichole C. Mullen, Cindy Morgan, and on more than one occasion for MercyMe and Mark Schultz, as well as many others. He's also lead the music with speakers such as Josh McDowell, Ryan Dobson, Ken Davis, Milton Creagh, and Joe White. He has emceed concerts for TobyMac, Third Day, the Newsboys, Thousand Foot Krutch, Hawk Nelson, and BarlowGirl -- all multiple times.

Industry professionals such as Rush Concerts promoter Cliff Reiser, Embassy Music President Darwin Moody, Rebecca St. James manager David Smallbone, and even Audio Adrenaline lead singer Mark Stewart have all commended Gabriel for his stage presence and his ability to relate to an audience of any age.

He has performed in front of audiences as large as 3,000 people under bright lights with elaborate stage set-ups. But his favorite, he says, is to step into a community church, sit down at the piano, and share with the people there. Gabriel's achievements are on the path of a superstar, but made available to hometown folks in their own communities. He offers a quality concert setting to minister in small towns, and will make an appearance for as little as a love offering. For a chance to bring an artist such as this, sharing the love of Christ in his memorable lyrics and catchy hooks, you will truly be blessed by the ministry offered by Gabriel Peter.
